ARTeMIS: an Erasmus+ project for training through research for the geology of tomorrow

The ARTeMIS project aims to allow students to confront the realities and expectations of the field in geology, to complete their university course and to broaden their horizons by allowing collaboration with students from other European universities. This approach brings together different actors working around the theme of mineral exploration such as the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as well as Hellas Gold SA , a subsidiary of the Canadian company Eldorado Gold Corporation, specializing in the exploration and exploitation of mines throughout the world.

On the program, training for teachers and students in spectroscopic field analysis tools and classroom lessons in the geochemistry of mineral resources. Two-week field schools in northeastern Greece, Western Thrace, are also planned. They will make it possible to carry out exercises in the use of tools for spectroscopic analysis, cartography and reflection on the establishment of metallogenic systems on geological objects which are at the heart of the research carried out by the various partners.
